Passing on Moelis (MC)

Moelis is a smaller investment bank, earning revenues from advisory fees to firms around mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, raising capital, and other business transactions. It also has an asset management arm that runs alternative investment funds. This is a transactional business, with revenues highly dependent around the economic environment and appetite for M&A and capital investment. The firm also competes against some major players like Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and Morgan Stanley. I don't see the recurring revenue or moat factors we look for, so I'm passing on it as a "green dot" stock candidate.
